Location: The Elm Street designated Bull Run Neighborhood is roughly bounded by Market and Saint George Streets, north to south, and South 5th to South 7th Streets, east to west, in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The neigborhood connects Downtown Lewisburg and Bucknell University.
Objective:
This zone will be a place where students and town residents meet, greet and learn from each other. It could be a place where artists work during the day and sleep at night. It could be a place where Bucknell and Lewisburg share and provide resources together under one roof. Drawing on Lewisburg’s regional influence in cultural arts, this center could promote and enhance its' regional attractions through creative programming.
Investment:
- Public funding for infrastructure redevelopment, neighborhood revitalization, and historic preservation
- Private funding for property acquisition, improvements to existing structures, historic preservation and floodplane restoration
Infrastructure:
- Streetscape improvements (sidewalks, streets, street curbing, pedestrian crosswalks, lighting, utility lines, trees and parking)
- Flood Hazard Mitigation, reduce risks to individuals and property while reducing reliance on community diaster relief resources
